Edwards Gives Back

We at Edwards Chevrolet 280 in Birmingham are all about giving back! We are privileged to help residents throughout Hoover and the surrounding communities, as they give us so much with their continued trust and patronage. We are committed to supporting local and national charitable programs, including the annual Chili Cook-Off benefiting the Exceptional Foundation in Birmingham! 

What is the Chili Cook-Off All About? 

The Chili Cook-Off remains one of the top yearly fundraisers in the Birmingham area, with good reason! Proceeds from the event benefit area adults, teens, and children with intellectual disabilities. This family-friendly, chili-tastic festival is the largest Exceptional Foundation event of the year and offers plenty of fun for everyone in your brood: 

  • Live music
  • Assorted libations
  • Kids’ Zone
  • All the delicious chili you can eat! 

This year’s Chili Cook-Off happens on Saturday, March 4th, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Brookwood Village. Last year’s event drew some 8,500 people and featured 125 cooking teams dishing out their best chili. Tickets are $15; children under 12 get free admission. You can purchase tickets online on the official website or the day of the event, as the ticket price is $15 either way. However, you might want to buy your ticket ahead of time instead of waiting in line!

Other Charitable Endeavors

Our team loves participating in charitable events throughout the year to show our support for Trussville, Bessemer, and surrounding-area residents. In addition to assorted events, we donate to the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®† program. We have been pleased to support this essential program for over 10 years and contribute $13 million. We are especially active with this charity during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and encourage our customers to use the #IDriveFor hashtag on Twitter or Instagram all October long. Every time someone uses this hashtag, Chevrolet donates $5 to the American Cancer Society® until we meet our $220,000 goal.
